  2. Make sure you have your fete tickets before you leave home!

  3. For J’ouvert or fetes like it cover yourself in baby oil. It makes it much easier to remove the mess before you have to pretty up.

  4. The first part of your costume you should put on is the wristband.

  5. If you want to wear large weave fishnets, wear pantyhose below to eliminate unwanted protrusions.

  6. Cut off the band at the top of pantyhose to stop the muffin top action.

  7. You will sweat in and possibly rip your pantyhose. Make sure you have two pairs.

  8. Try on your costume as soon as possible!  Sometimes adjustments need to be made, especially for frontline costumes.

  9. If the straps of your bra can be crossed, cross them! It’ll either give you a nice push up or much needed support.

  10. Take a pouch (wristlet) on the road with you that has: $100TTD, your phone, tissues, blotting sheets, lash glue, hand sanitizer and a form of identification. You can thank us later.

Fitness Tips

We have to start by disclaiming that we are not nutritionists here. However, we have been preparing our minds and bodies for Carnival every year for many years and can share what we’ve learned.

The most important ingredient for great stamina is a healthy heart. That means you have to keep a certain level of fitness ALL YEAR ROUND. Crash dieting or drastically lowering your caloric intake without professional direction can be very dangerous and can lead to you never making it to the airport. We don’t want that!

1.      Eating healthy is three quarters of the battle.

2.      If your aim is weight loss Cardio is your friend!

3.      Start off easy. Don’t try to workout like an Olympic athlete on your first day.

4.      Ladies you can lift weights, no it will not make you look masculine.

5.      Be consistent. Every time you take too long of a break your body will have to start over.

6.      If you are dedicated to that 6 pack, cut out alcohol for at least 12 weeks prior to your trip.

7.      Work with and listen to your body. No two people react to the same thing the same way. Tailor your workout and eating plans to your desired results.

Budgeting Tips

Depending on the kind of experience you want to have, carnival can be very expensive. The earlier you decide to go, the earlier you can get your saving plan on the road.
